[resource]Procedural strawberry material for 3ds max草莓材質

I found a very useful material ---strawberry on vray-materials website. The auther is capp from visual-distractions. However, this material is only for Vray renderer.

So I modify the material make it compatible with default 3ds max 8 renderer and make it more effecient (by removing the refraction function within the original).

How to use it:

1. Download from esnip

2. Unzip

3. Start 3ds max 8

3. Create a sphere with enough segements, apply a UVW map modifier if you like, set type to sphere)

4. In material editor, open up the file you download (strawberry_material_3dsmax8.mat)

5. Apply the material to the sphere.

Tip: (a) play around the Noise amount within Mask channel will create different effect. (b) change tile number will change the strawberry looking

(This material is for 3ds max 8, not for previous version)

Ferrero Rocher is very famous chocolate. In this video tutorial you will learn how to model Ferrero Rocher with default 3ds max NURBS function, no plugin required. For the tinfoil, I use reactor cloth to simulate it. After modeling, I render with Finalrender Stage-1 and set a HDRI in the background. For the tinfoil material, I learn from a tutorial on Xenomorphic.co.uk website and modify the material color.

The Ferrero Rocher is product of their company, if the company don't want me to make this tutorial I will remove right away.

I use finalrender as renderer. Their is no light in this scene, I only set a HDRI in skylight and in background.

I use Finalrender stage-1 as my renderer. All material use Finalrender advanced material. For the lighting, I use a Finalrender rectangle light, and set a HDRI in the sky light, also I copy the HDRI to the background.

Material and lighting:

I use Finalrender stage-1 to make material for this cell phone. I use fR-Metal for the black part of the phone. fR-Car paint for the silver part of it. fR-glass for the plastic buttons. fR-Cd material for the laser laber (the PHS).

Lighting

I set the skylight value to 0.9 and I use the a HDRI for the lighting and copy it to the environment.

Description of this tutor:
In this video tutor I combine NURBS fuction in 3ds max and use the npower power NURBS plugin to perform some task during modeling this PET bottle. I take advange of the "Xcurve" function in power NURBS to make the wave pattern of this bottle. For the bottom of this bottle, I use the powerbollean to cut out the shape and fillet the it.

It seems that npower power NURBS has bug, so I am stick with default NURBS in 3ds max, until some task can not be done by default NURBS.

Tips: the cut out the shape of wave pattern, better check the "cap" fuction after you revolve the cure for the middle part of the bottle.

(2) convert to NURBS, join the curves
(3) By using "create 2-rail sweep" to crete surface for the hook

Tips: play around with "reverse curve" and change posion of start point of the cross-section curves to get better result

In this video tutor you will learn how to model a turbine in 3ds max, basic NURBS modeling.

Description: First create rectangles and circle, attach those shapes together. Trim the shapes. Convert to NURBS and lathe. Secondly, to create fans of the turbine, create curve, extrude the curve. Create another cureve and trim the extrude surface. Fix the capping problem by convert to mesh, go to vertex level, select all vertex and weld.
